Why Initiate?
Initiate was created to empower the next generation of dancers as they transition into the professional world. In an industry that can feel overwhelming to get into, we offer the tools, support, and connections to help dancers succeed.
Initiate is more than just a summer intensive — it’s a five day experience designed to prepare dancers for what comes next. Our program blends high-level training with practical career preparation, giving dancers insight into the realities of the dance world. From mock auditions to seminars with industry professionals, dancers gain not only valuable skills but also a deeper understanding of how to take initiative in shaping their futures in the industry.
What makes Initiate unique is our holistic approach. We know that a dancer’s career is about more than just talent; it’s about professionalism, mindset, networking, and so much more. That’s why we offer Q&A sessions with agents and choreographers, guidance on necessities like headshots, resumes, and finances, and lastly, honest conversations about the challenges and rewards of pursuing a career in dance. Our goal is for every dancer to leave with both growth in training and a clear roadmap for their next steps.
Above all, Initiate is a community. Throughout the week, dancers connect with peers who share their passion, learn from mentors who have walked the path before them, and are supported in an environment that celebrates growth. No matter what a dancers goal is within the industry, Initiate is here to provide the foundation and inspiration to move forward.
“We give you the tools. You take the initiative.”
